The process of creating these antique replicas is long and arduous. It begins with an extremely high resolution digital image of the original art (taken either with a large format digital camera or specialized scanners). Each digitized image is then meticulously examined at microscopic resolutions, where we clean, repair, digitally enhance, and carefully color correct these incredible old works of art. We then begin the long process of printing and inspecting multiple proof copies until we have matched the originals as closely as humanly possible (the final quality judgements are always made by the human eye).

After restoration, each Real Replica™ is individually printed in the finest archival watercolor pigment inks on the most expensive, mould-made, fine art paper available. Our heavy, 100% cotton rag paper allows incredibly accurate color reproduction and deep rich blacks. Our special inks feature greater pigment density than most fine-art inks and a larger color gamut than even the finest, silver-halide photographic processes. We even use three different black inks to provide a deeper blacks and a wider range of grays. Our inks have also been shown to remain lightfast for over 75 years.
Our unmatched level of detail is due to our use of the finest giclee printing equipment, which enables us to print our Real Replicas™ at a resolution of almost 3,000 dots per inch. Just to put that in perspective, most high quality magazines are printed at 300 dots per inch.
